LOVE OUR SANCTUARIES

LOVE OUR SANCTUARIES film night

The night will feature a series of short films, including stories from Batemans, Cape Byron and Jervis Bay marine parks as well as Sydney’s Cabbage Tree Bay. Many of these films have never been screened before.

Between the films, we'll take short breaks to hear from locals and experts about what coastal communities across New South Wales can do to make sure our oceans are protected for generations to come. We'll finish up with a quick Q&A with the panel of presenters. Some light catering will also be available, because what's a movie night without a couple snacks?

Throughout the screenings, there will be plenty of opportunities to learn about how you can get more involved in ocean conservation in New South Wales no matter what your background is. This is an evening for anyone and everyone who loves New South Wales' oceans and wants to help protect them.

The event is open to all ages. Please get in touch if you require any accessibility assistance so we can make the event as easy to attend as we can.

RSVP for your free ticket today as we are expecting a full house. We'll see you there!

This event will be hosted in collaboration with Nature Coast Marine Group, the National Parks Association NSW and the NSW Marine Sanctuary Alliance.

Seagrass & Oysters Movie Night

Seagrass & Oysters Movie Night

NCMG are partnering with AusOcean, Narooma High School, Batemans Marine Parks and Council to install an underwater camera and data logging bouy in Narooma! School students will assemble it and NCMG will assist in deploying and monitoring it. The live stream, focusing on seagrass and rays, will be available for everyone to watch 24/7!

In an effort to raise funds for this incredible project, we will be hosting a seagrass and oyster restoration themed movie night with our forward thinking friends at OzFish!

Seagrasses, such as Posidonia Australis, and oysters are not only incredible habitat for many species, but also play crucial roles in carbon storage and water filtration. It is for these reasons, and many more, that we must do all we can to protect them!

The night will include a few short and medium length films about local and worldwide initiatives with talks in between outlining some of the great projects that our organisations are involved in.

Vegetarian and vegan dinner will be available for $10 on the night, and drinks by donation.

Movies will be announced in the coming weeks.

Kids under 12 are free, but please still book a ticket for them!
